Kuri Model Village Islamabad
Islamabad, October 17, 2014: On the directions of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal, Estate Wing has started taking possession of land on the long delayed and most important project of Kuri Model Village. In this regard, demolition of build-up property in village Kuri and Rehara has commenced and 10 houses of the affectees, who were ready to handover the possession, have been demolished here on Friday and CDA has taken possession of this land. Compensation would be paid only to those affectees ‘within two days†who will handover the possession of their built-up property to CDA for demolition and whose award was announced in 1968. Besides, these affectees would also be allotted plots in Kuri Model Village simultaneously in lieu of the demolished built-up property.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per award of 1968, CDA had acquired 2900 acres of land but the affectees had not handed-over the possession of land to CDA and the matter of Kuri village remained in the court. However, due to the hectic efforts of present regime of CDA and disposal of litigation in courts, work on Model Village Kuri has been started. The present regime has shown keen interest and taken concrete measures to commence work on all stalled projects of immense importance including Park Enclave. On the directions of Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal, the development work of Park Enclave has been started very recently. All those projects, which remained shelved, have been prioritized by the present regime on its agenda, adding that these projects would be completed on war footing. Chairman CDA urged the Estate Wing to ensure payment of compensation and allotment of plots in lieu of demolished built-up property to the affectees of Kuri Model Village Project so that the project could be completed well in time.
