CDA starts uplift work in Sector D-12 after 25 years
ISLAMABAD - Around 25 years back when Capital Development Authority (CDA) had launched residential sector D-12 in Islamabad, development work on the posh sector started on Thursday.
Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal, who was accompanied by other senior officers of the civic agency, visited the sector promising to accomplish carpeting work on major roads, service roads and approach roads in Sector D-12 on war-footings.
Launched in 1989, the CDA had been sleeping over the uplift work on D-12 putting the investment of thousands of people at stake that had bought plots in this sector and have been demanding development work on the site.
Contract for development of D-12 was awarded in 2005 and the civic agency claimed that uplift work would be completed within a year but it once again hit snags until the CDA allocated Rs200 million for the uplift of the residential locality in financial year 2014-15. The CDA Chairman directed the concerned formations to initiate the work on the remaining development works in Sector D-12 within a week time, adding that the contractor must be asked for completion of development works with quality as quick as possible.
He directed the Environment Wing to ensure cleanliness in the Sector D-12, so that the garbage and other solid waste could not accumulate.
Afzal said that sufficient funds had been allocated during the current financial year 2014-15 for the development of different sectors including carpeting of all roads in sector D-12, which would be completed within available resources of CDA. Find More
